One Color That Look Good on All Women

Be the One to Stand Out

The One Color that looks great on all women

Every season magazine editors list new trends that are all the rave.  Then other fast fashion industries such as New York & Company, Zara, and H&M scramble to implement these trends into their seasonal lineups. We, the consumers, then go out and purchase these trendy items because we believe they’re what’s in right now.  Well, I will tell you that I’m not a “trendy” person. My style is pretty simple and doesn’t change much. But I do like to incorporate a few trendy pieces in the mix if they work with my style.

This spring, many new colors, styles, and prints were on the list of what’s trendy this season.  Some of the trends mentioned were khakis, gingham print, statement stripes, floral, etc. But the one trend that got my attention is yellow! I know you’re like, “Really, that’s what you came up with?” We all know yellow is nothing new. But, to be honest, in the past, I haven’t had a lot of yellow in my closet.

I have seen so many women with yellow tops, dresses, pants, and shoes during the recent Spring and Summer seasons.  Every time I’ve seen this color worn, I’m taken aback because it looks so beautiful on us. So below is a list of three reasons you should add a few yellow pieces to your wardrobe.  And if you already have yellow pieces, these are the reasons that you should be wearing them.

Yellow looks great on all skin tones.  One of the things that I love about the color yellow is that I have seen it on just about every skin tone and it looks beautiful on everyone.  The catch is you have to make sure you choose the right hue of yellow.  For fair skin, a deeper yellow such as mustard is perfect. For medium, olive skin tone, a bright yellow makes your skin glow.  Lastly, for deeper tones, any hue of yellow looks great!  For more tips on choosing the right hue of yellow that pops against your skin, check out fellow blogger Tanesha Awasthi at GirlwithCurves.

Be Bold

Yellow is an instant mood booster.  Both times I’ve worn yellow this summer, it brightened my mood.  I felt happier and more excited about life.  I think it’s because yellow is so reminiscent of sunshine and brightness.  The color just makes you feel good.  I did a little research on the color and found a website called Color Matters that stated yellow is “the color of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment, creativity, the sunshine, and Spring”.  So basically, it adds a dash of cheer to your life!  Who can argue with that?

Yellow is an “attention-getter”.  Because yellow looks great on all skin tones, it instantly grabs everyone’s attention when it’s worn. Last week, I wore this yellow dress from ASOS and received so many compliments on it as soon as I walked into my office.  The main compliment was how great it looked against my skin and the fact that the color just popped.  Wearing yellow will definitely put the spotlight on you.

So pull some yellow out of your closet and try it out.  If you’re a little hesitant about wearing this color, try it in small doses (like a yellow bag or yellow pumps).  Then move on to larger pieces such as yellow pants, a yellow top, or even a yellow dress.  I’m sure you won’t regret it!

Here are a few of my favorite bloggers who have incorporated yellow into their wardrobe.

What are some other colors that you feel are universally flattering to all skin tones?

  1. I was recently in two weddings, and the dress colors were coral for one wedding, and mint green for the other. We all had wildly different hair, eye, and skin color and they looked great too. I enjoyed the article! Keep up the good work!

    1. Coral! That’s another good color! I don’t have any mint green pieces so that’s a good one to try out. I actually saw a mint green dress at our store that was similar to the navy mesh dress on my blog. Maybe I’ll try that one. Thank you so much for checking out my posts! I really appreciate your support 😊!
