My favorite season of all is right around the corner! Autumn is coming! The leaves will be changing colors. The air will get cooler. Thigh highs, stocking, leggings, and boots will be in style again. Hot apple cider and hot chocolate are the ultimate drink of choice, and the best thing of all, Starbuck’s pumpkin spice lattes and muffins are back!
Atlanta seems to come alive in the fall time. Festivals, concerts, and conventions are in abundance this season. This is the perfect time to catch up with your family and friends. This year, Atlanta has an event almost every year that will cater to whatever your desire is.
This weather is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the city. To help you in your endeavors, here is my top 5 list of the upcoming events that you can attend.
- Music Midtown September 15-17
This is one of the biggest musical events held in Atlanta every year. This year’s headliner is none other than Bruno Mars! Other artists include Big Sean, Haim, Future and Mumford and Sons. Tickets for all three days start at $145 (+tax). https://www.musicmidtown.com/
- Japanfest September 16 and 17th
For those of you that love to embrace different cultures, I highly recommend attending the Japanfest in Duluth. You can experience the food, culture, music, art, and history of Japan. Come and celebrate Japanese culture. Tickets are $10 and kids 6 years and under are free! http://www.japanfest.org/
- Cirque du Soleil Luzia- September 14-November 19
If you have never experienced a Cirque du Soleil performance than you are missing out. This is one of the most beautiful and amazing shows ever done. According to the Cirque du Soleil website, Luzia is an imaginary vision, a waking dream based on Mexico. Tickets start at $35 at Atlantic Station. https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/usa/atlanta/luzia/buy-tickets
- Anime Weekend Atlanta- September 28-October 1
I personally cannot wait for Anime Weekend Atlanta or better known as AWA! This is the mecca for everything anime! A weekend full of cosplay, anime, K-Pop, and J-Pop, and all things kawaii!!! If you are looking for a great first convention then I highly recommend attending AWA. Between the panels, the food, music, and people watching there is bound to be something for the whole family to enjoy. 4-day passes start at $70. http://awa-con.com/
- Sweet Auburn Music Fest- September 30-October 1
“Where the food is good and the music is great”
Located downtown in the Old Fourth Ward area, the Sweet Auburn Music Fest is all about showcasing good food along aside good music. This event is free and open to the public. There are vendors located throughout the area but the main stage and event will be at Walden Middle school. If you’re looking to just get out of the house, this is the event to go to. http://www.sweetauburnmusicfest.com/
Get out and enjoy this beautiful Fall weather! And as always, have fun and get inspired!
