I had the opportunity to learn more from Yolanda regarding how she has turned her pain into purpose.

Why Passion Meets Purpose?

I received the vision for Passion Meets Purpose during one of the most difficult times of my life. My mom was at the end of her battle with brain cancer. I’ll never forget it was December 13, 2011, and my mom and I wasn’t communicating as usually.  I was used to speaking to her daily but for the past 6 months, she could barely speak. On the morning Dec 13, I went into a fervent prayer asking God to deliver my mother from this disease either restoring her health or call her home. While on my knees a peace came over me and I fell asleep. I woke up with an overwhelming vision for my business with instructions for Passion Meets Purpose as my mantra for Shyne Hair Lounge Salon LLC

Mission: To encourage one to maintain a positive self-image and promote well- being.

Our goal is to empower you, both in mind and body, to pursue a life where your passions meet your purpose. Thank God for all this vision. The very next day my mother was called home to be with the lord. I then began my journey allowing my passion as a hairstylist and my love for people to lead me to my purpose which is to evangelize and encourage the women I encounter from every walk of life.

What Advice would you give aspiring women business owners?
I feel it’s very important to develop a 3-5 year business plan and stick to the script.  Make modifications as you learn during this journey but don’t get distracted from the big picture. Understand a business is and investment and you get from it what you put into it. You can’t just invest your money! You must invest your time, passion, sweat and sometimes tears in challenges and triumph. Also, make sure you’re taking this venture for the right reasons. Pray and ask for guidance.

What Tools For Success have you utilized during your 4 years as a business owner?
#1 I envisioned my success.
#2 Faith
#3 Gratitude
