October 1-7 is Mental Illness Awareness Week. During this week, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) engages in an intense campaign to raise awareness about mental illness and dismantle the stigma.
According to NAMI, 1 out of every 5 adults in the United States will experience a mental illness during their lifespan. Thus, if you look into the mirror or in around you, it is highly likely that someone is experiencing a mental health challenge.
To further increase awareness, the Georgia Chapter of NAMI will host it’s annual 5K Walk for Mental Health on October 7.
Join Destination Greatness, on October 7, 2017, as we join forces with Silence the Shame, for the 5k fundraising walk hosted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, (NAMI). The event will take place at Grant Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
Our team goal is $250. With your support, we can exceed our goal. All funds are contributed directly to NAMI Georgia’s Goal of $175, 000.00.
