Over-the-knee boots have been trending for the past few seasons, and it doesn’t seem like they will be going anywhere anytime soon. And why would they? The boots look great with just about any outfit as long as you pair them correctly. And they come in so many colors, textures, and designs that you don’t ever have to worry about someone wearing the same pair that you’re wearing. I own one pair right now that I bought last year. And I had been waiting for the fall weather to finally kick in so that I could pull those babies out. Now that we’re getting a small hint of fall in Atlanta, I wear my over-the-knee boots at least twice a week. The pair that I purchased from Macy’s is very versatile. As you can see below, I’ve dressed them up and down. Either way, they always work. Though over-the-knee boots have long been associated with “women of the night”, I try to always wear them in a way that still looks classy and sophisticated. Below I’m showing you three totally different ways you can wear your over-the-knee boots without looking like Julia Roberts from “Pretty Woman” (one of my favorite movies, by the way)!
Pair with Shorts
One wouldn’t normally think that shorts and over-the-knee boots would go well together. But the pairing can work as long as the rest of your clothing is covering you up. So as you can see above, I “covered up” with a long-sleeve turtleneck and a pair of black tights.
Over A Pair of Jeans
This is another easy look to put together because we all have at least one pair of skinny jeans in our closet that can be paired with your boots. I love wearing my over-the knee boots with jeans because it gives me that effortlessly chic look. I like to throw on an oversize sweater or a t-shirt and blazer to keep my look classic and cohesive as well.
With a Dress
Probably the easiest way to wear over-the-knee boots is with a dress with a hemline that comes down to the top of the boots and shows little to no skin. This is a look that I like to recreate when I’m planning to wear my boots to the office or to church. Yes you can wear over-the-knee boots to work and church. Actually, this was the outfit that I wore to church this past Sunday. But as you can see there was almost no skin showing (almost).
Another common theme in all of these looks is that my boots do not overpower any of the pieces. The boots work cohesively with all of the pieces, and they fit perfectly as well.
